A Havanese can get a lot of exercise inside. A good activity would be to have you and your husband alternate calling her to you, giving her a treat only after she's allowed you to grab her collar (so that if she's ever lost, a person will be able to easily grab her by the collar) then gradually getting further and further away, even eventually on different floors of the house (for lots of exercise and really good practice at coming when called). Eventually you will probably want her to sit before you give the treat too . . .
Shama is also wild about chasing a toy as I move it from side to side of my body. She loves to run underneath my knees. Every once in a while, I let her grab it and we play a bit of tug before we start the chasing again.
Inside ex pen, you can give kibble in a toy to give her a mental exercise and to slow down her eating. We like the Twist 'n' Treat:
Thanks,
My yard is fenced but she can still get through, we will have to add the "chicken wire" to the bottom, we have already looked into doing that.
