Intro to Agility & Fun Day - Sunday, 10/22

Intro to Agility & Fun Day
The Red River Havanese Club will be hosting an Intro to Agility & Fun Day on Sunday, October 22 from 2:00-4:00 PM. This will be held at Chuting Stars Agility, which is located at Houn' House in Carrollton. Laura Yarborough will be giving us hands-on instruction, and this is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one of the great pioneers in dog agility! Here is an excerpt taken from the Chuting Stars web site: "Laura Yarbrough has been one of the nation’s most successful competitors and trainers for the past twelve years. She won many titles and awards with her speedy Pomeranian named Cody. They were national 12” champions in 1992, and appeared as finalists several more times, including an appearance in the 2000 Animal Planet Grand Prix of Dog." Reserve your space now!
Up to 20 dogs may participate, so we are reserving space on a first-come, first-served basis. In the interest of accommodating as many people as possible, we will initially reserve 1 dog per household and place additional dogs on a waiting list. Then, space permitting, we will reserve slots for your additional dogs. Note: The recommended age for puppies is 6 months or older.

Participants - What to bring
Please bring water for your dog and plenty of soft treats, cut up into tiny pieces. Your dog should be wearing a buckle collar and light-weight lead (4' or 6' is fine). You may also wish to bring a chair and water for yourself. Wear comfy clothes & athletic shoes.

If you'd like to see what Agility is all about but would rather not participate, please come as an Observer. Everyone is welcome to bring their family & friends, and just mix & mingle and enjoy the "show". Please bring a chair, your camera if you'd like, and your favorite snack.

The price for Participants is $15 for one dog, and $5 for each additional dog in your household, space permitting. There is no charge for Observers.

RSVP by Monday, Oct. 2
Please RSVP Holly Chant at by Monday, October 2. At that time we'll determine if space is available for additional dogs on the waiting list. Holly will then send out a Chuting Stars form to be filled out (one form for each dog participating). We will need the forms returned with vaccination records and payment prior to the class date. Directions to Houn' House will be sent out at that time.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Holly Chant at For more information about the Red River Havanese Club, please visit our web site:
