We took a lovely walk today at the West Hill Dam here in eastern MA. This is a state owned property, with lovely trails through flood plain, fields and forest. The trails are well marked, gravel, and wide enough that it's easier to avoid the poison ivy and invasion of ticks we're suffering this summer.
The dogs had a wonderful time. Jodi was off leash when we were away from areas with other people and dogs, while the girls, much to their annoyance, remained on. Something for them to look forward to when they can be trusted! Dave walks Kodi and Pixel, who both walk nicely on loose leashes, while I handle the unguided missile... Miss Panda!
Yes, it was warm, but not humid. And we always bring water along for the dogs, even if not for us! We can tell right away if they are thirsty, because one will start hovering right under the water bottle on Dave's belt!
Is that the renowned "dog hater" in the first picture? He looks absolutely miserable! Why isn't his tongue hanging out too? I looks like the Havadoggies kind of like him though. :grin2:
Yeah... The dog hater. That's him. He has taken to calling Pixel "My Princess". I actually signed over co-ownership of Pixel to him for our 35th anniversary in June. It's just a gesture, of course... they are all both of ours. But he is tickled that he can actually talk about "his dog" with people.
