After chowing down Lola turned her snuffle mat into a snuffle pillow.

She's going to be over-run with Havanese!!! ;) we've been lucky enough to have her at our training center 3 times. I've been able to work with her with Kodi and Pixel.

I'm super glad to know she's worked with other Havanese! Guess I shoulda figured that though, what with her success and all! I haven't had a trainer yet that works or specializes in small dogs, let alone a Hav! I've really had to adapt things to fit Layla. You are so lucky to have such an awesome trainer and active training center! We keep plugging away out here though :wink2:

Christine I would advise taking part in Denise's drive and motivation session if you're attending just one day. I was very impressed at how much outstanding, easy to understand information she shared. When the handlers and dogs went out to their "stations" she made sure each team was totally successful before she moved on to the next team. After working with the teams she explained, again in easy to understand detail, what we saw and why things worked or didn't work.

This was my first time with Denise in person but definitely not my last. When Lola is older with actual training exposure it will be fun to attend Denise's seminars with her.The exercises in drive and motivation are powerful for obedience foundation success. I think you'd get more out of D & M than you would from the handler's choice.

Thank you sooo much Karen and Pauline! I am going to stay with the Drive & Motivation seminar. I really do need some tools to get through to her at times. Like I said before, there are no small dog trainers around and my only experience before getting Layla, was with herding breeds. Haha, that's a huge difference! Layla is super "soft" also and shuts down easily. So I'm excited to take this and learn some tools :smile2:

Karen, you are so right about losing them in the ring. I felt Like I might be losing her at our first show in August. The dog does come first and that is my main concern, I don't want her getting stressed. I want her to like showing and have it be positive. I am going to lay low and just do the Novice runs this weekend. In reality, I would be pushing it to go off leash, as we haven't trained enough for that level and I still use tons of treats when she's off leash. Thanks for helping me go with my gut on this!

Pauline, I see that Lola is still feeling crummy! I hope she is doing better this evening and is back to normal soon :smile2:

Thanks again ladies!
