Maddie gave me a huge scare :(

Its been a bad month for Maddie giving mom scares. A couple weeks ago she saw a big orange cat and climbed up a steep wall and chased it behind my garage. I wasn't worried because it doesn't have a way out. Well come to find out it does. The problem was I couldn't get threw and she wasn't letting me know where she was. I was in my night gown and slippers. I ran and got my long wool coat and work boats. The only thing I could do was go the way she went and it was full of blackberry's. Big huge ones over my head and thick. I just kicked them down with my feet. She was still lost. After falling twice and really banging my head on a metal post I came to a clearing and found her sitting and shaking. She still wouldn't come and I was still in the blackberry's. There was no way I was going to turn around and walk around the block because I was afraid she might run off. Each step pushing down the berry's she would back up some. I kept saying stay mom is coming too save you. Thinking who is going to save me? Blood dripping from both my head and legs. I finally got threw and picked her up. Silly me didn't want to go around the block in my funny attire so I headed back the way we both came. I protected her in my coat.We made it to where I had fallen at the post. I couldn't pass with her under my coat so I put her down and told her to go under. She got threw did and I was able to squeeze threw. I was so glad to get us both home safe.
Zoey had ran after the big cat too but didn't try to get threw the vines. She is my scarredy cat.
Today I was in the shower and the sisters were making a ruckus over something. Maddie was actually howling and I've never heard her do that.I got out, went to my room and couldn't find her. She was no where. My heart was sick with worries. My first thought was that someone took her. And the only person who I could think to would be her dad . He helps me when I work long hours and he still says she is his dog. I called him and accused him of steeling Maddie. Okay Maddie has a toy she is obsessed with. Its very simple and only costs a buck she has been caring it around all morning. I looked everywhere twice. The last look I found her in my closet in a basket with her toy.
Okay so Maddie has given me way too many scares for one month. The worst thing is that darn toy I think she loves it more than me.

PS I got a black eye and a slight concussion when I fell. I was nauseous for a couple of days.

that sounds like a good couple of scares. Glad you both survived.

Thanks Dave my nerves are shot still . I have taken the toy away before because I think its weird she guards it like she does. The toy is just a round fluffy disk with a squeak inside. I don't know how she found it again I thought I had hid it.

I hope you are ok Suzi. I am happy to hear Maddie is fine. I lost Scudder in the closet several times, so I know how freaky that can be!

One never apologizes to the ex or to a child.
