Well Hershey had his final set of puppy shots today and he was such a good boy. No fuss no muss. I think it was the liver treats the vet gave me to distract him while getting his little pokes. The big news is we have a little tank. Hershey topped the scales at a whopping 8.36 lbs. He turned 16 weeks this past Tuesday. I think he is going to be a big boy unless he is doing all his growing up front. I definitely noticed a big growth spurt the last couple of weeks, but I didn't expect that. Ollie is 16.5 lbs, so I guess having two in that range keeps the wrestling matches more even. Has anyone else had a 16 week old at that weight? Just curious what they ended up weighing as adults.
My Rocky weighed 9.2 lbs at 16 weeks. He is only 20 weeks now so, of course, I don't know what his adult weight will be but I'm thinking he'll definitely be bigger than the 14 lbs the breeder suggested. The vet did say he was probably doing most of his growing now and will probably slow down soon.

Panda's weight at 16 weeks was almost the same... 8 lbs even. But we know her family grows fast early, then slows way down. I'm HOPING she finishes between 12-13 lbs, but I'd be extremely surprised if she was over 14 when she's done. She also has a very wide rib cage, and is just more of a "fire plug" than my other two, which makes her weigh more for the same size. Now, coming up on 7 months she is, if anything, a little shorter than Pixel, who only weighs 10 lbs if you weigh her just after she ate. On her 6 month check-up, Panda weighed 11.3 oz. and I don't think she has grown much in the last month. She's certainly not going to be a little one, but I don't think she's going to come close to Kodi's size (11 1/2" and 17 lbs) either.
You know, a lot of people seem to be favoring the teeny tinies these days, but there are lots and lots and LOTS of Havanese in the 13-16 lb range.

Thanks for all the info guys. It is fascinating how they can have these growth spurts and then level off. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I would be quite happy if he didn't get to Ollie's weight, but it really doesn't matter much in the end. Healthy is the important thing.
JoJo was 8lbs at 16 weeks and the breeder predicted her to be between 10 and 11 lbs. I need to get her back to the vet to check on those baby teeth and plan when to have the big surgery and am anxious to see her weight today at a bit over 7 months. Congrats on finishing puppy shots. That made me happy when we completed that phase.
Yes it is always good to get that over with. Now as you say the big surgery left to do in a few months. That one I am really not looking forward to. I get a little scared about it.
