This puppy has ambition!

I bought this giant rawhide bone many years ago when I first read that swallowed rawhide pieces weren't healthy. So far, neither our late Cavalier Bandit nor our late Chihuahua Jitterbug nor our elderly pug Porky nor our young adult Pomeranian Coco have managed to make a dent in it through all their puppy teethings. Let's see if this pup is the one who will force it into retirement. :)

PS: I am so relieved that her eye healed overnight! We still have an appointment with the vet tomorrow though, so we'll get it double checked.

Haha, I know, right?! Even the bottom ones show up in that close up! Her muzzle hair is at this really odd stage where they stick straight out to the side like a funny cartoon. It is exciting to see what colors are going to come through. Her legs are definitely going to be white, and there's some tan on her ears. I wonder about the black on the side of her face. It will be fun to watch!

What's your fave? Back in the day, Nylabone and Kong were all the rage. What's the current recommendation?

It's funny how you have to re-research everything every so often. The Pom is my (adult) daughter's, so the last time I was on top of things was 10 years ago for my son's pug.

Bully sticks for the win! My older dog, who has a sensitive tummy will get loose stools if I let him have one for too long, though, so maybe watch for that. Lola was a constant chewer when a puppy, which Watson wasn't. Bully sticks saved everything in my house. She's never messed with any object except, of course, a very expensive pair of glasses....twice!

I tried the split antlers, soaked overnight in chicken broth, but neither of my dogs ever took to them.

It will be really interesting to watch your little one change coats. I now see what your breeder told you with her being a sable, which I didn't see in that first pic. You can see the changes happening around her eyes, making those eye lashes stand out even more. You have a beauty!

Thanks everyone! I did have bully sticks briefly with Coco, but the smell wasn't worth the joy she got from them. Fortunately, this puppy isn't too much of a chewer, but maybe that's because she is 12 weeks old already.

I postponed her vet appointment until tomorrow at 4 because Coco has an upset stomach, so they can see both at once then. I think Coco is just upset she isn't the youngest in the house anymore, but we'll see.

I am learning my way around the forum now and soon I will be able to remember whose dog is whose. I am grateful for all the support!

Thank you! What a nice thing to say! I will need advice forever, so I will stay around!! I have named her Mayzie (after the bird in Horton Hatches the Egg who hated work and said she'd much rather play!), and changed my username from Username609 to Chasing Mayzie. So I haven't left, just made my name less of a mouthful!

I am anxious to see her color change too! Her roots are kind of a silver grayish color and her legs have a lot of white, but her face and ears seem to be keeping that black stripe and tan ears. So who knows!

Thanks again for the kind words!
