Kallie won't eat

She hasn't eaten a bite today. She only ate abut 1/4 cup yesterday & threw it all up later (carsick?) After her crying/barking fit for about 10-15 minutes yesterday while in her crate is when she stopped eating. Could she have a sore throat? I have the food the breeder sent home with me, so it's the same thing she's been eating. She's not very active this evening. Sleepy. She was playing like crazy @ lunch. She is peeing & pooping. She doesn't even want her potty party treats.

I told the breeder about this yesterday evening & she said not to worry, she'll eat when she's hungry. But I'm starting to get concerned. Is this a normal depression thing because she's not with her sibs?

Well my breeder said... ha ha, I am a beginner at this, but she stressed that in little dogs like this not eating can cause low blood sugar and it can be serious. She said to get some Nutrical, put some on your finger, and get put in on his tongue. I'm sure someone with more experience can say something about it, but all I know is it was stressed to me to be sure he ate. Fortunately he eats like a horse, but I don't know, maybe you should ask your vet!

Yup, I was told to give Joey nutrical 3x a day, everyday, until he was 5 pounds or 6 months old.

She's drinking water, but not as much as on Saturday. But her gums are still pink, so I don't think she's dehydrated.

I think you should pay a visit to the vet and have her checked out.

She has a vet appt on Thurs. If she doesn't start eating tomorrow I'll call. I'm sure she'll tell me if I need to start her on the nutrical or something. Thanks for the ideas & advise!

I agree, if her water and eating has decreased then get Kallie to to the vet.

Mine didn't eat well so I put a small amount of water in the kibble and heated it for about 10 sec . If that doesn't work try some canned mixed into the kibble they love that. I added cooked chicken breasts for about the first year with none salted broth.

Great news this morning - Kallie ate her breakfast! I'm sooo relieved. Thanks to all for your concern & advise. If there hadn't been improvement this morning I was calling her vet! She slept well again last night, but woke a little earlier this morning. I think it was because she was hungry!
