Hi I'm Colleen and my princess Havanese is Cola. She's 1 1/2 years old and has her full coat. Picture is after a bath and blow dry. It's the curly type and I am wanting to cord her. Yes I've read all about it and know what's involved in both the beginning and the upkeep. I'm looking for someone in the Austin, Texas area that has hands on experience cording a dog with already longer hair. I'm not wanting to cut it all off in order to begin. Anyone out there know who I should contact?
I love the look of corded Havanese. I saw a black one at the National Specialty show a few years ago; so cute, I wish he had won BOB! Since they're rare I wonder if you'd have better luck contacting breeders of corded dogs (e.g. Puli) in Austin for advice.
Carol Croop, Premiere Havanese in Atlanta, Ga. Is the owner of our Leo's sire, MJ who is corded. He is cute as a button. You could email her to see if she could answer your questions. I thought about letting Leo's coat cord but love his beautiful gently waved coat.
Agree with the others, its cute and fits him. I would enjoy that style for a while before thinking of changing. :smile2:
