Just thought I'd pop on here & introduce myself. After a few months of trying to decide on a breed for a new puppy, I finally decided on a Havanese after meeting a friend's dog a few weeks ago.

So, yesterday I brought home a 9 week old puppy & named him Bailey.

I haven't had a puppy in years & trying to house train & crate train again is kind of daunting but I'm looking forward to it. I've barely had him 24 hrs & he's won me over. He's sooooo stinking sweet & cute.

I'm looking forward learning lots here. :smile2:

Bailey is beautiful. I love those Havanese dark, soulful eyes. One reason I keep Cassie in a shorter clip is so I can see her eyes looking like that.

Hang in there with the potty training and rest of it. It does get better and better but first few months can be exhausting, just like with a new born human baby! Many of us also hadn't had a puppy again for many years, and it is hard to remember life with a puppy. I enrolled Cassie in puppy classes as much for me as for her so I could get a refresher course myself.

Thanks for the welcomes! :grin2:

The past few days have been so much fun. I forgot how much fun it is with a puppy around. Exhausting, but fun. I kind of miss sleeping late on Saturday & Sunday but maybe I'll get to do that again one of these days. haha

He's been so good so far. A few accidents but considering how little & young he is, he's been really good about holding it & even starting to "make circles" at the door giving me just enough time to jump up & run outside with him. lol

The cat (who's about 18 months old) was a little freaked out for about 2 days but last night they started playing. He'd chase her & then she'd turn & chase him. When she had enough she'd jump up on the sofa where he couldn't get to her. I'm hoping they'll be best buds eventually.

Does anyone have any advice for keeping his feet & face clean? He's so tiny & close to the ground he stays filthy. I've already given him one bath & I try to wipe his feet off with a warm damp cloth when he comes in, but he still manages to look like a mess. lol
