Hello! My name is Shannon and I learned about the Havanese Forum from ShamaMama when we had a playdate for our girls today! I am Havie mommy to two Havanese sisters - Maggie Lu (blonde) and Penny Marie (brown and white). Obviously, they are my pride and joy and the center of my attention - and I'd be lost without them! Attached are a couple recent pictures of my girls. Human-wise, I am wife to Jeff and mom to a 20 year old son and a 17 year old daughter. I am super excited to get to know you all!
It was very exciting to find out about Maggie and Penny from a mutual friend yesterday. And to think the girls were already playing today! Here's a photo from the end of the session when they had warmed up to each other and were getting pretty tired out!
I'm so sorry to be behind the ball on welcoming you! You have a couple of adorable Havies! Love the boots they have on. Where did you get them? Do the boots actually stay on?
Wanted to tell you all about a funny activity that happened the second time we went over to Shannon's. After the girls had played together (or coexisted peacefully one might say) for a while, Shama and I were getting ready to leave. Then Maggie and Shama decided to play a game. Penny just sat about four steps down from the top of the stairs and watched. Shannon and I watched from the bottom of the stairs, next to the front door. Shama was at the bottom of the stairs, and Maggie was at the top of the stairs with her ball. Here's what happened, over and over and over again . . . Maggie would drop her Kong Swirl Ball down the stairs and watch. Shama would retrieve the ball from wherever it went on the landing and bring it back to the bottom of the stairs. Maggie would run all the way down the steps and take the ball from Shama. Then Maggie would go back to the top of the steps and drop the ball down again and watch Shama retrieve it. Then Maggie would run all the way down the steps and take the ball from Shama. Then Maggie would go back to the top of the steps and drop the ball down again and watch Shama retrieve it. And over and over and over. And all the while, Penny just watched without moving. (Shannon says Maggie is wild about playing fetch but that Penny has no interest in balls.) It was so funny! We tried to record it but failed. We'll have to try again sometime. At home, Shama entertains herself for 20 minutes at a time dropping her squeaky orange ball down the steps. It's by far her favorite toy.
How adorable. Welcome to you and your two and four legged family members. What fun that you have another forum member to play with. Keep posting pics, they are great.
I am new to the forum also. Your girls are adorable! I love their boots!!!! How did you get them acclimated to wearing boots? Was it difficult having two littermates. What are your perspectives on the pros and cons? Welcome
Can't get the video to play, Melissa. I'm sure it's cute!
