What have we done!?

Hey everyone! I joined this forum looking for info on various supplies needed for our new Havanese puppy, Halo. I'm sure I'll participate in the coming weeks for other questions. We brought Halo home 5 days ago at 10 weeks old. Already, the puppy cuteness is wearing off. As many others have experienced, puppies are a lot of work! We have 5 kids, with 2 being the youngest, so adding a puppy to the mix is...fun. :O We just have to keep reminding ourselves that he won't be a puppy forever...

Halo is adorable! I wish someone had told me sooner - take *tons* of pictures while he's little they grow up so quickly. You won't regret it. Enjoy the good stuff and try not to be overwhelmed by the rest.

He is so cute!! Be patient with him. He's only got one puppyhood and it will go quickly.

Halo is adorable, but puppies are a lot of work in their first year or so. Just when you think it is getting better, they hit adolescent period (around 7 months, it varies) and you wonder what happened to the dog you have been working so hard with...then that phase ends and before you know it, you have a well adjusted member of the family. It does get better and better and the time you invest now in all phases of training will pay off for many years. But those early months can be exhausting!!

Halo is adorable! What I miss about puppyhood is how Shama would follow me all around the perimeter of the backyard when I took her out to potty. Now she stands at the bottom of the steps and watches me as I walk all around the perimeter of the backyard . . .
