Hi. My name is Barri. I live in East Northport, NY. I have 2 havanese. MItzi is 10 and Lucia is 7. We are looking to add a third dog to our group. We would like to get a young adult. I was wondering if there are any breaders that are looking to sell their retired parents or if anybody knows someone who is looking to have their havanese rescued.

You could contact breeders directly. Many of the better breeders are in contact with other good breeders, and they often know who has an adult needing just the right home. Those opportunities seem to come and go rather quickly, so it's often the case of being in the right place at the right time. As far as rescue is concerned, contact Havanese Rescue! :)

We didn't realize that Shama's (real!) mama would be sold to someone in California who wanted a retired show dog. Had we realized it, we would have taken more photos of Shama with her mama! The first two photos were taken when Shama was two and a half weeks old, and the last three were taken when she was seven weeks old.

Good luck with your search. Enjoy all of your Havanese! Please post some photos!

(This was a reply to Barri who asked how to post photos. He has since edited his post to remove his question and include photos!)

Under QUICK REPLY, there's a box called MESSAGE. Under that, there's a box called DRAG AND DROP FILE UPLOAD. Just drag your photos into that box. You're limited to five photos per post, and the files should be small. To make my photo small, I either edit it with photo editing software (my preference when I also wish to crop the photo), or I drop it in fotosizer (free downloadable software - my preference when I need to shrink a lot of photos at once). If you are trying to post a photo from a smartphone, someone else will need to reply. I don't have a smartphone. Forum members love photos. Everyone who sees this post should post a photo of a Havanese immediately!
