Just wanted to remind everyone that Westminster is on TV live tonight. First on USA for an hour, 7-8 PM central time, then on CNBC following that. Hope we get to see a Havanese, and one that we know too! :first:

Thanks, Beverly, looking forward to it.
The Havs will actually be shown tomorrow morning at 8am so there shouldn't be any Havs on tonight. It should still be fun to watch, though. :)

I saw on the news that it is very very cold back east right now so bundle up everyone and make sure those adorable dogs so not get too chilled ..
I know it is warm in the Garden but it is outside I am talking about .. Everyone looked so-oo cold today on the Today show today .
Sally, it's our time... but I'm not sure that there will be any programming at that hour? I think USA is showing Westminster from 11am-2pm. I could be wrong.
Cosmosmom, yes it is freezing here! I met Kimberly and her husband, Craig, along with Diane, Kathy and Melissa on Sunday for dinner and we were all complaining of the cold. It sucks when it's that cold, though, because it means that we all have to carry a bunch of clothes around in MSG where it's really hot. Blegh.

OMG that was so funny!! We were cracking up at that one. :pound:
Still looking to see a Hav - although I guess we'll have to wait for tomorrow night for the Toy Group. I sure wish they'd televise the breed judging, not just the group.
This is fun to watch though I can't imagine how fun it would be to actually be there!!

Hey amanda..
Feliz is a HSD breeder... So that 'sparks will fly' is HSD I would assume..
Not sure if there are other HSD's though...

When did they start fluffing up the little heads of the Cairn terriers? I don't remember them ever being so poufy. I just adorded mine, but I learned my lesson, no more terrorists..errr..terriers for me!
My dog trainer explained it to me like this: Every morning the Terrier wakes up and says "I am the king!!!" and you have to spend the entire day reminding them that no, you're the king, not them, until it's time to go to bed, at which time they're beginning to understand. You sleep a few hours, the terrier wakes up, stretches, stands tall and announces "I am the king!!!" and you begin another day. :) and that IS how it was at our house with our terriers.

Ryan- interesting! Apparently he is a havanese when it comes to the big shows!
These shows are bad for me cause it makes me want to own every breed!
Beverly- my friend has two of the most stubborn but sweet Cairns! She always says her next dog is going to be an easy going Dora dog!

Hi all:
Watch for Racquet's dad tomorrow. His name is Cohiba Esplendido.
He is white with brown ears and brown marking on his back.
Hope he wins.

Lo, here's what I wrote from a previous thread on Havs being a Toy:
Toy dogs refer to all dogs that are bred as companions/lap dogs as well as due to their size (Havanese are small dogs, even if they are not as small as, say, a papillon). From what I understand there is some argument as to how the AKC chooses toy dogs, but those are the two defining characteristics: Temperament (bred for companionship as pets - not for working) and size (I might be wrong, but I think none of them exceed 15-20" in height?).

Amanda, I forgot to say that there are HSD people around showing at Westminster. At least that was the word on the grape vine.

I've seen Colby in Fla. Circuit, he's very pretty, Janet his breeder must be over the moon. Kathy congratulations on the AOM, Vallee and Sweepea have the same daddy, Buster. The judge gave both an AOM. Wow that must have been an amazing time, so early in the morning. I hope the Havs do well in the group ring. Can't wait to watch tonite. Good luck Colby.

I taped last night, and hit ff'd till they did best of each breed. I have a terrible attention span to sit through the whole thing.
And every time I think it'd be cool to do the whole show thing, I remember what a fashion no no flats and skirts are, lol. My calves just couldn't pull that off.

Luckily allergies keep me from having one of each breed. But I was totally enthralled with some of the hounds last night. And totally, totally enamored of the Tibetan Terrier!! But maybe that was because I was hav'n-neezer withdrawal they do look a lot a like. I love how they explained that in tibet they had indoor guard dogs and outdoor guard dogs. Maybe that is why our Hav's are such good watch dogs.
Can I just ask- what is up with those poodles? I know many of you know, own and love spoo's and I do too...but what is with those hairdo's?
