    Dave,

I don’t know if you remember me, but I feel sure that you remember Jammies. I lost her May 4, 2019. She started having little mini-strokes was the best diagnosis. She had a hard time walking and finding food even in my hand. She just wanted held and I held her with all of my heart. Anyhow, I haven’t been on here forever. I use Facebook most of the time.

    Hi Dave,

Since you have offered some info on car sickness, I thought I would contact you.

Last year I said goodbye to my 11 year old Havanese Willy, so I feel like a seasoned Hav mom, but this issue with my new puppy has been tough.

I have a nearly 4 month old Hav puppy who has a rough time with car sickness. When the breeder delivered him to us at a location about 20 min away, he was already covered in drool and vomited the whole way home. I have a gunner kennel in the backseat of my car with deluxe dog bed and fleece blanket. I have tried the super short car tides ( less than 5 min) to a park once or twice a day, but no improvement.

Today I had to take him for a 20 min ride and he vomited at the end of the ride and then trembled intermittently for the following half hour. poor guy.

If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks very much,
    Michele and Teddy

    Hi Davetgabby,

I have enjoyed reading many of your postings, although I have not been on the Forum for long. You seem very invested in how you raise your dog(s). I have a question for you. I'll be getting an 8 week old puppy in Oct. The breeder describes different brands that she stocks and recommends when the puppy goes home. Some look good.....but I would like to replace that kibble and canned food with a lightly cooked diet and have emailed Sabine. I'll be contacting her again after the puppy is born. In your opinion, how easy is it to transition a puppy to that type of diet? How soon would you start? Thanks!

I am in Columbia County Oregon and am open to help from an expert. Jerry is turning out to be more work than I anticipated and I want to be sure the things I do are helping him settle in and not make things worse for him. No telling how many prior homes he has had. The home before us didn't want him because he cried when crated in a room away from the family, so I did expect a few behavioral issues and really want to help him become a healthy happy dog. He is only 5 and I would like him to become well adjusted for his own sake as well as mine. Thanks, Hazel

HI, DAve. The food I give him is Wellness brand, Complete Health Small Breed. He's been on it for years.

Hi Dave. I thought it was related so should stay in that thread rather than starting a new one. Are you one of the moderators? Annie
