Hi all,

My name is Liz Trollinger, and I wanted to introduce myself (I hope I'm doing that in the correct area). I've been wanting to purchase a puppy for my long term boyfriend and myself for about a decade, but we've been waiting for the time to be just right.

As I've been eagerly awaiting bringing home my first Havanese puppy, I have been of course very focused on ways to puppy proof my house. I've enjoyed reading all of your tips and tricks and hope to share my own once the little guy gets settled in, in just a few short weeks. I don't have any other pets and have actually never took full responsibility of puppy training before, but I am a very driven type so of course I've been scouring the internet to find all the information I can (this of course is the best source of information I've found).

I've attached a picture of the pup we are purchasing, and I'm so excited, though I have to wait until the end of November to pick him up. His name is tentatively going to be Hamlet because he'll be my little prince, and because my boyfriend and I both majored in English in college where we met. :drama:

Even though I haven't responded to any posts yet, I have been reading threads that speak to me, and I really want to say thank you to everyone for sharing your experiences with your amazing little ones. :yo:

Thanks again and I hope to be more of a contributor and less of a voyeur soon. :pop2:

Sincerely,

Liz

Welcome Hamlet looks just like a prince. I hope he will be as charming as his name and I'm sure he will. I'm so excited for you. I'll let the others teach you about house training and such because I'm really bad at it. My 2 year old still hasn't gotten it:(

Thanks all!

Dave that is certainly a very comprehensive article - I think I have read parts of the same article on other posts, but I like that this is all in one location plus some additional helpful info.

I do have some questions about when to do certain things in a puppy's development, but I'll post them to the training forum instead of here.

Thank again for the info and the introductions!
