Other then barking at the door bell, what does your hav do to alert you to things going on around the house.
Today I noticed Whimsy sitting and staring at the closet door ..she would look at me and then stare at the door some more. Then she walked over to me and stared at me and started barking. What in the world is she doing I thought!
Well, a few minutes later I put 2 and 2 together and realized my cell phone was zipped up in my winter coat pocket and hung up in the closet with the door closed. I didn't hear it but she sure did!
Smart little buggers aren't they???

Tillie actually "tattles" on my kids. and occasionally my husband. lol

Seriously, she does. Often times, one of my kids will take her 'lovie' (her little cloth bone) and hide it from her... she has this particular whine/yip that she does every time. and they ALWAYS have it. Hidden under thier shirt, sitting on it, etc.
Earlier this evening I was making dinner and I heard my husband sit down in "my" recliner... Tillie did NOT like that. She yipped a couple of times, ran into the kitchen, licked my leg, ran back into the living room and yipped again at my husband. It was hilarious. Needless to say he didn't stay in my chair for too long as she was visibly agitated about this change in events. lol

Bama has woofed at FedEx making noise outside this weekend barked at ups being outside tonight. And she never used to! I am now praising her when she is quiet when there is someone out the door.

Both times we had to sign for packages so they made those scanning beepy sounds. Maybe coincidence. And the UPS guy tonight wasn't our usual guy. And come to think of it, FedEx often can't seem to deliver a package when we are home (gate code they should have), so maybe she was just shocked they showed up. Hah!

Bugs occasionally. She got upset when her radio was messed up...it wasn't static, but the cd the station was playing was skipping (they explained after the song). She listens to classical music, mostly when she is by herself.

Oh gosh, where do I start?

Um...
The doorbell
A car door closing outside that is not one of our vehicles
People talking outside, whether it be the neighbors or people on the sidewalk
Our neighbors just put in a pool so there were a lot if strange voices out there
There's a Christmas tree in our living room
That we set something down on the floor that is not one of his toys
Doorbells and chime sounds on the tv
The vacuum was left out of the closet
His ball rolled under the couch

Uh...
I'm sure there are more.

Hahaha! These are all so cute!

Freddie will let out a little growl when someone comes in the house late at night, as if he's saying "it's past the time when people should be coming over!"

He's also taken to barking/growling when my boyfriend gets up in the morning, thinking there's a stranger in the house. As soon as he sees it's him, it's all wiggle butts and puppy kisses.

He will run to the back door if he hears a car door close that he thinks is mine. He did this the other night when everyone was home and I looked at him and said "it's not me! Everyone's here!"

I've also noticed that he sticks in nose in places where he's lost a toy (e.g. in the crevice between the stove and the cabinet where he managed to lose his antler, or under the garbage can where he lost his little tennis ball!)

Everyone is going to think I'm nuts :pound: well I probably am Ive learned to except it. Hear it goes I moved into a very old house in November the first night I was hear the dogs woke me up in the middle of the night no barking just startled. I saw a flashing moving across my bedroom very eerie. We have had several middle of the night strange things happen. A mirror crashed of my bathroom wall, my door to my bedroom rattled and rattled and then just stopped. They have gotten to the point where they bark now I don't notice anything. I have lived at four other homes before this one with them and the only other times I got woken up was they could hear deers in the yard or someone coming home.
Anyway I said something to my neighbor and I guess I'm not the first person to have had this experience the house was built in 1906 and I was told it was a brothel . I would love to try to research more and find out who my house guest goast is.:) Otherwise mine let me know so many other things I just thought this story was the best.
Does anyone else have a Goast?

Brody goes bonkers when the timer goes off on my stove.

In general he alerts me to EVERYTHING. He somehow thinks it's his job to bark, growl and let me know if he hears an ant fart 6 miles away!

Gabby doesn't miss anything (ppl at the door, dogs outside on their walks, microwave timer etc). The most useful thing she alerts me to is the phone ringing. When I have the vacuum on and the phone rings I can't hear it but she runs to me with her ears up and then she runs to the phone! Its the cutest thing
