dog farts. :frusty:

Ollie was at school today, and I guess the turkey natural balance sausage gives him gas. A LOT of gas.

when I got home today, the power was out, we are in the middle of a pretty good storm. so I'm too cold to get out of bed and spray some lysol, but Ollie, is pretty much gassing me to death (fell asleep right next to me)! :suspicious:

I'm asian, and my BFF taught me when we were traveling thru asia to breath thru your mouth :biggrin1:.

anyway, Ollie is totally passed out as he usually is after a day at school, and passing gas at an expontential rate. all day he's been gassy, and co-workers have been making cracks about him farting... 'you know that wasn't me right?'

just had to share the joy. It's pretty impressive something so small can stink so much.

It's not usual. I mean, he works for natural balance sausage, when he comes to school to work, and he's had the turkey before, and never had gas like that. it's not his kibble, it's his high value reinforcer for doing fabulous tricks for the kids at school, like discrete trials or counting :) but um, yeah, no more turkey sausage from natural balance for sure.

Barf....I used to have a Boston Terrier and they are notorious for their stinkiness, so I feel your pain! However, my Hav is pretty stinky too. I thought maybe dogs were just stinky, but maybe I need to change my Hav's food too....hmmm....I'm giving him Blue Buffalo Life Protection Chicken and Brown Rice right now, any suggestions for something different?

I just switched because wellness keep have too many recalls. I couldn't afford Acanna and that brand was too rich for Zoey. Any way the natures pet store manager turned me on to Earthborn meadow feast with Lamb. He said its similar to wellness and so far Zoey has adjusted to it fine. Mine had never had lamb before.

Brody farted a ton as a pup (the silent, but deadly type)...I called him Sir Fartsalot for a long time. ha ha Thankfully, he seems to have outgrown that, for the most part.

Hard to believe just a little bit of treat can cause that much gas, but I guess it can! I feel for ya! Hope it goes away soon.

I just put two and two together. it was raining hard all day today till about 2pm.

I always take him out for walks during recesses and lunch. but he wouldn't pee or do anything. I did bring a pee pad for back up. anyway working at a school, I do have meetings, and I usually leave him with another human, as I know he has separation anxiety. also my office is in a suite of 3 offices but I was the only at work today. I had to go down to talk to some teachers in the portables, so I was away from Ollie for about a 1/2 hour.
I don't he's been all alone since he was a pup. he threw up while I was gone. and was beside himself when I returned. It took about an hour for him to return to his old self. that's probably why his tummy was a little gassier than usual.

I have a lot of momma guilt of the separation anxiety bout.

I think turkey is supposed to cause gas. I've never had that problem with any of my dogs but one - a peke a poo! She used to get right up next to us and let loose!

About mouth staining - we bought a Brita water filter pitcher and only give them that and the staining is going away.

Murphy also used to clear the room with his gas, and had breath that would sometimes about knock you over. I could not believe a dog as small as Murphy could smell that bad. Once we switched to K9 naturals raw diet the smells from both ends went away:biggrin1:

I guess he had a sensitive digestive tract and just needed the right diet for him. It is interesting how different foods can cause reactions for our fur babies.

Well, Otis is black, but never farts anymore. I tried all the so called good foods for him, and they all gas him, and you cant stand him. They also made his poo, really big, and more of it, and, whew, the smell. He gets food from the grocery store now, and it is normal.
