I know that I am way late to post of this but we just got our phone and internet reconnected today after hurricane sandy. I'm in Pa. and our area was hit pretty hard by the storm. Thankfully, we only had 2 trees come down (along with all of the power lines, phone lines, etc. on the street). One tree went right through our shed. During the storm I was absolutely petrified about taking Bear out to potty. We only had to go out twice during the worst of it, and somehow he knew not to try to wander. He did his duty very close to the house (where he has never gone before) and came right in. After the storm, we lost power for a week. During that time, we had to run large extension cords through the house to the generator. Not once did Bear try to bite any of the cords. He was an absolute angel that week, and for that I am grateful. I hope that truly was a "once in a lifetime storm" because that was just CRAZY -esp. since I don't live in a coastal state. Hope all is well with everyone! Time to catch up on the threads
Thank the powers that be that you are safe....brave little Bear and his Mom.
Hopefully the sun will shine on you and for that matter many others that this storm rained down on.
Hugs to you both............
I am *very* grateful that we stayed safe and no one I know was injured. I really believe that Bear knew something was wrong. He never comes to sleep in my bed and each night that week he slept right next to me. I just adore him <3 You're right Evelyn, Bear is such a little trooper

I think you are right that they know. Piper and I went through Irene last year where we were displaced for two weeks and Sandy this year and we were away from home for a week and she was an angel both times.
Welcome back! So happy to hear you are safe. I have family that still have no power and a cousin who's power went out again, but they are safe and can stay with other family. I have family that live in Belle Terre and they said that they saw a hugh wave hit Port Jefferson...just so scary. House damage can be fixed but lives are most important.
