Oh, actually he played MANY games of fetch with it over the course of the day!

I live in the South. But, lots of Yankees are moving to TN because of their winters, something to think about. I have never seen another Adult Havanese except on TV.

Karen, we'd love to have you and Kodi come down and walk the beach with us in the Spring. Dogs are not allowed on our public beaches from May 15th-September 15th, however, we have a Jeep Wrangler with an off-road permit which allows us to drive out on the entire length, 6 1/2 miles, of our barrier beach where dogs are allowed year round off-leash but during piper plover nesting season, on leash only. It's an awesome experience to drive way out there and we do it often with Tyler for lunch and walks and it's lots of fun. The scenery is amazing. We'll have to plan something. I know Kodi will be good, but I can't vouch for Tyler as his loss of hearing makes him a bit jumpy when approached from behind. We can give it a try though.
Speaking of the old man, here he is on one of our windy beaches last Sunday.

That sounds like a great plan, Mary! I actually prefer the Cape off-season anyway, as I hate dealing with crowds and traffic. Kodi's BFF, Buddy, a German Shepherd is getting very elderly, and Kodi knows to be gentle aRound him. I'm sure if Tyler told Kodi to back off, he would, and he wouldn't take offense. "Old men" deserve some respect!

We residents also prefer the off season when we get back our beaches, roads and stores. We know that we have to have tourists for our economy, but it's sure nice when they go home. Even winters on the Cape are nice and so different from living in Metrowest.

No kidding! When we moved here, it was a sleepy little farm town. We still had the "Holliston Horse and Buggy Club", CVS was Russell's Market, and the next closest grocery store was Star in Wellesley. The P.O. was still on Central St. and Bertucci's was Walter's Dairy.
Now, it's hard to get out the end of our driveway at rush hour! Too bad WE can't get the "tourists" to go away!

I remember those days very well. We moved there in 1965 and didn't leave until 2005, 40 years later. It was the "small" town atmosphere that lured us there. There have been too many changes which have certainly changed the ambiance of the town. Oh well, I guess that's called progress.
