My dog might need a colonoscopy!

Well, the saga continues with my poor dog. I am taking him tomorrow to the vet for a rectal exam. The fact that he's been ill for the last 3 weeks while on meds. is a cause for concern, and of course, the bloody bottom issue.

Going in tomorrow for a rectal exam (the dog of course, not me! However with the stress of this all my poor GI system is on the fritz as well! ) and I am hoping he will find something tomorrow which will eliminate the need for the colonoscopy next week. If not, we need to load him up with prednisone the next few days to handle the stress of the situation and get him in as soon as possible.

The colonoscopy will show pallips, inflammation, tumors, etc. etc. Whatever is going on, I just hope we figure it out and get him on the road to recovery.

Has anyones dog undergone a colonoscopy?

I'm so sorry Django has to go through this. You're such a great dog mom! I never heard of a dog having to undergo one.
