Django has been eating nothing but ground turkey and rice, although he manages to pick the rice out, but now he has an interest in kibble. How do you transition, a little of both for a couple of days?
How long has he been on the turkey and rice? I'd transition slowly. start throwing a few kibble with his normal food and gradually increasing the amount of kibble each day while decreasing the amount of the other food. If he gets diarrhea then you are transitioning too fast.
He's been on turkey for 2 weeks. And, he hasn't been eating everyday either, we've got belly/meds. issues going on. I have been throwing canned as well (it's specifically for GI issues.) To be honest, I just want him to eat anything at this point!
Honestly, if his tummy is still bothering him, I'd stick with the canned if he'll eat that. When we're sick, it's easier to eat something that's appealing to us. After he's COMPLETELY well, you can try to slowly transition him back from canned to kibble if you want.

I agree with above, add a very small amount of kibble and if there is no problem add a very little more a couple days later. The transition, since there are tummy problems must be quite slow.
I thought you were going to consult with Sabine. I'm sorry but you're going about this all wrong.
