We're getting 2 inches per hour. Supposed to be up to 11 inches tonight and its 35 degrees more so....that means lots of ice. Too grumpy to take pics right now. Maybe later.
I love snow and we never get it. I grew up skiing but cant afford it anymore I really miss the snow. I bet it would get old if we had a lot. My car wouldn't be able to make it down and up the steep hill I live on.
When and if we do get it you guys will all know because Zoey and maddie have only experienced a dusting. Can you even see the snow! We had more but it melted before I got up and dressed.
We are just expecting a couple of inches in my neck of the woods. It will be mostly rain and then change over later tomorrow afternoon. ..Yep,,good thing Whimsy goes inside on a piddle pad.
It's been a crazy night. Thunder, lightening and snow. The pine trees especially are starting to strain uner the heavy wet now. It's a miserable night. The Dept. of Transportation has recommended no travel anywhere in Iowa and they're taking the plows off all roads except the main roads.
I put Lucy's coat from last year on her tonight to try to ward off some of the snow. It's too small. She grew more than I thought she had.
Even if the coat had been bigger, I don't think it'd have kept the wet snow from clinging to her tummy and leg hair. Does anyone have any suggestions? As soon as it slows down snowing, we can clear a area, but it will still be bad.
Dave, here are two pictures I took just for you. I'll take more tomorrow after we get more snow. The first picture is when it just started snowing tonight about 5:30. It has snowed with this intensity pretty much all night.
The second is just a shot our weather channel shared ont the 6 pm news.
I love the snow, makes a nice clean layer between my muddy yard and the long haired dogs. They rolled around in the snow for hours yesterday. I just put a warm blanket in front of the fireplace and they lay there until it melts off the fur.
I hate snow and D has a puppy cut. But, HE on the other hands, loves it! I can't figure it out, a breed from Cuba loves snow!
