"Fred" is such a cute name! When we contacted the breeder to "order" a dog, I told her we wanted a male. She finally phoned and said the good news was that the puppies were born but out of six babies, not one was a male. So we got our Bella instead!

Fred is a really good patient. I hope what ever it was is a one time thing. I cant imagine the two being related the itchy feet and but. Who knows. So the eye never came to a head like a sty did it?

No, his eyes blew up just like the picture. Once I did the benadryl and tea bags, they went back to normal. He is still a bit itchy....

That's strange. Has he eaten anything different? Have you changed soap or cleaning supplies? When was his last rabies shot? some dogs have a reaction even after 3 mo. Hope he stops itching soon.

Suzi, you are a genius!!! He just got the 3 year rabies shot 1.5 weeks ago! That makes sense. Those dreaded vaccines. I hate them!

I think I've discovered something that might help. I use Aveno baby shampoo on Bella and DaniGirl and in the winter I added Aveno baby shampoo with conditioner. I think the conditioner was causing problems like oils on a human eye can cause. I began washing around the eye area with regular baby shampoo, diluted, daily and the eyes have settled down.

They did get their rabies shots in September and her eyes did start acting up around then. Maybe there is a connection to that, too.

Glad you found something that seems to be helping.

Fred is all better. Eyes are fine and itching has stopped. I do think it was the rabies shot. I hate vaccines, they are evil!
