SPAM FORUM POSTS !!!

Is there any way to stop these silly spam forum posts for iphones and whatnot ???

seriously. I don't know HOW they even get in to be a member!
When I first signed up it was like 2-3 weeks of waiting before I was finally accepted to the site...

Sorry everyone for having to deal with this, it is VERY annoying for us too. Tammy before the forum was locked to where admin has to approve new members, I would think that we could do this to where they could set us up to do this and I have asked them to cinch it up again, but they don't want to and instead they just want to add more moderators which will not change the problem we already have

So please just continue to inform us by reporting the spam and one of us will be her as quickly as we can to remove it. Thank you

Changing the subject totally - where in Nevada are you based - I keep dreaming of getting Max a brother / sister and we spend half the year in Las Vegas ....

Heather - tell whomever runs the forum that there are plug-ins available for spam. if you need more info I'll ask the owner of another forum I am a moderator on. I know it's not from the company that makes the software for the forum, it's a different company, but since we started using it, it's really cut down on the spam. also, there's some kind of other software or 'button' that will put suspect posts in a moderator's cue, so we can't see it but you guys can, and you would approve the post before it hits the forum.

Another option, is for the moderators to check the bio's and IP addresses of new members, so make sure they are real ppl. usually spammers put lame answers for the bio part, and the IP addres doesn't match what they put on their bio. big hint it's a spammer. also whomever owns this forum can block certain IP addresses.

It really is frustrating, believe me! If I had a dollar everytime I had to ban someone for selling an unlocked iPhone..lol Heather and Yung, too..its like swatting flies and you never can kill them all.

I *think* they are just out in record numbers peddling their crap for the holidays thinking people are more apt to buy it this time of year..idk. I hope it slows down afterwards.

Heather, you think we should open up a forum called "Unlocked Apple products?"...
