Jenny, we can't wait to meet Timmy. Send me a PM and we can come up with a good time. And Linda, you know you are always welcome! I am glad to hear Timmy found a neighborhood friend!

We don't know any other Havanese in the area, but I CAN tell you, Isabella completely freaks when she sees her reflection in the TV or a mirror. Scares her to death.

Next playdate, you'll have to come. It usually gets posted here, so keep an eye out. It is so much fun to see 50 Havs running and playing, then crashing.

Rosie barks and growls at the Havanese in the french doors out on the deck. I have to rein her in sometimes. And the one in the full-length mirror--well she really hates it. I finally put a chair in front of the mirror.

It's funny how differently different dogs react to mirrors. Kodi TOTALLY ignores them. You might as well try to attract his attention to a spot on the wall. But I know other dogs who love to play with their reflections.

I'm not sure if they recognize their own kind, but Eli definitely responds differently based on the size of the dog. He loves, loves dogs his size and does the whole run up in their face and run away game. He gets very aggressive by barking and lunging at larger dogs. I think it's a defense mechanism like "dude, don't get any closer." This happens mostly when we walk around the neighborhood and he sees strange dogs. In the park, where there are dogs of every shape and size, he seems much better with larger dogs. I'm not really sure why.

With Kodi, it's DEFINITELY NOT just size related. He doesn't like to play with terriers (too rough) or Chihuahuas. (too bossy) Also, we went to a small dog play group where there were a bunch of Chi's, a few Min Pins and a couple of Yorkies. They were all peeing and pooping all over the floor. Kodi totally shut down and wanted nothing to do with them. They weren't chasing him or bothering with him either... he just didn't even want to be there. He spent the whole time either in my lap or trying to GET in my lap. We didn't go back.
He has had a blast at every Havanese get-together we've gone to, though.
