sugar to make them feel better?

I was telling a friend of mine that we had a rough last night with DJango. He couldn't get comfortable and was all over the place, waking up, whining, etc. etc. We got up several times to go out to pee, bottom line, a rough night.

She told me that when her dog has these issues she mixes a little sugar in some water and gives it to him. It seems to settle things down. Anyone hear of this remedy?

Sounded a bit odd to me.

I would chose a walk over giving the dog food. but that's me.

I was gonna say what sabine said. if a dog is lethargic and their gums are pale you can rub a little sugar or karo syrup on their gums. but it sounds like django just couldn't get comfortable. maybe just a baby asprin or a 1/2 a one ( no tylenol or advil--poison to them) or 1/2 a benedryl. naturally, sometimes just a spray of lavender water on their bedding. or a drop or two of rescue remedy.

Oh, I would never try my friends remedy for DJango. We have these nights at least once a month. Par for the course I guess. I just try to make him comfortable, rub his belly, etc. etc.

ACtually these nights are harder on me cuz I stay up all night keeping on eye on him.
