H1N1 and dogs

Since we've heard about some of our own Havs coming down with 'flu-like' symptoms, I thought this article might be interesting to read: http://www.dogsincanada.com/h1n1-and-dogs

It is written by Jeff Grognet, D.V.M., Nov. 6, 2009.

Marj:

Thanks for the article-My vet advises me to get the shot for Frannie-since she has such a compromised immune system she can catch stuff the other two healthy dogs don't get.

We were at the ER vet last weekend-Sunday-then my regular vet on Monday-then the heart dr on Wed because Frannie had come down with a trachea infection and sounded like a "fog horn". It even hurt me when she would cough. She is on meds for that and they have upped the heart meds-she is now at Stage 5 heart murmur.

Ah, poor Frannie. You are such a good mommy to her, Pat. She's got to feel so loved and safe.

That's too bad about Frannie, Pat. I can see how it would be hard seeing her coughing and possibly in pain. ((hugs))

She is so blessed to have you caring and loving her as much as you do. I am sure that she knows how much you love her, and loves you back as much as she can. It sure is tiring and worrisom, tho, to have all these vet visits all together. So sorry about the grade 5 heart murmur ;(
