Thatís wonderful! I have a question on the excerpt below. Does this mean a titer can be used for a healthy animal? Or just one with a medical issue?

ďOnce signed, veterinarians and pet owners will have the ability to exempt a pet from legally required rabies vaccine if the animal is sick, disabled, injured, or if other medical considerations exist which make vaccination a risk to the animalís health and life. Instead of a vaccination, a Titer test, which measures a petís antibodies to combat rabies, can be used.Ē

I know from experience that if one searches for holistic vets it is not hard to find one that thinks that any unnecessary vaccination is "a risk to the animal's health".

Thanks PNWAlan. I did find another article on this and it did say the titer can be used for healthy pets too which is awesome. It is great to protect dogs who are unhealthy but better to keep them from getting unhealthy in the first place! Mia had bad seizures after her rabies shot at one year old so I do not want any more. As far as holistic vets, they can be hard to find depending on where you live. There are only a few within a hundred miles of here and only one that is a full service vet. I did find a great integrated vet in my area who is aware of the dangers of over vaccination. I think more vets are becoming educated about this so that is encouraging. Where we are moving later this year there is a holistic vet who is working to become a full service provider so excited about that.

I'm not sure. It SOUNDS like it's what we have here in MA, which is, for sure, better than nothing, but doesn't go far enough. But this article is all I know. Still, a step in the right direction.
