Hi, welcome, for the night try to put the crate near your bed. When he cries, you can put your hand near the door or put your fingers through the door so he is comforted that you are there and he is not all alone. When he sleeps through the night then you can gradually move the crate out of your room or wherever you want his crate for night time. Have you taken him to the vet when you purchased him. If he smells like urine and going urine a lot it may be possible he has an infection. Stay patient, he is still young and will get better. Cheryl

Is the odor coming from his ear(s)? If you haven't had him to the vet, I would get him checked. Ear infections are very smelly and require treatment. Both my boys had profuse hair in their ears when they were small, and I probably didn't get them dried thoroughly after a bath. Both ended up with an ear infection, yeast I believe, which is quite smelly. The vet cleaned out hair and gunk (it was reddish brown) and we treated with an ointment for ten days.
