Water....

up her nose??
Before class today I poured Tillie some water and as I was pouring it she got impatient and went in for some and snuffled some water up her nose. What do I need to watch for and could she get really sick from something like this? Have any of your havs ever done this? Has there ever been a problem?
You know me, ever the paranoid hav-mom.

I'm guessing, since it was water, it'll be fine. I'm sure I get water up Trooper's nose when bathing him. He doesn't exactly stand still.....and he tries to wriggle his head up and back when pouring water on his face.....

My guess is it's fine, but I'm eagerly awaiting others answers too, because I've wondered.

Kodi has gotten water up his nose a couple of times at the lake. He usually just sneezes it out and that's the end of it. No lasting problem!

lift her left paw up three times. Rub her belly in a circular motion. Scratch her chin. Then you do the hokey pokey and turn her all about. Then you have a shot of something. You're cute Tammy.

Not to scare anyone here, but a few months ago during the winter, there was something on the news about humans getting sick from doing that nose/water thing to clear head congestion - the name doesn't come to me right now but it looks like a little watering can, kind of, and I guess you pour water through you nose? I'd never try it, but some people swear by it. Well, you are supposed to use distilled water and some people used raw tap water and got sick/died from bacteria (not sure if it was well water or city water). Apparantly it is ok if it goes through our digestive system but not ok if it goes through our sinuses. But yes, Tillie is probably fine.

Yeah, I think it's called a Neti pot. My SIL swears by it. (but she does use distilled water)

I don't think you want to do it on purpose, or regularly, but I think this is more like a kid getting a nose full of water in the pool in the summer. It happens and life goes on.
