When I was little (many years ago) the first house dogs in our neighborhood were chichuhuas (sp). A lady with asthma got one and swore that it cured her asthma. It especially helped when she decided that it should sleep with her. Well my mother not to be outdone (and who never was sick a day in her life) got two little yapping chi's. None of us ever had asthma or were sick with anything much. My children have always had dogs and cats and were never sick either. Maybe there is something to the theory. Personally I believe that we were all just exposed to many germs back then and developed immuity to many diseases.
