A Scare Today

My boy was fine this morning and after letting the dogs back in from potty break at 10AM his eye was puffed up and very red with his third eyelid 1/3 of the way covering it. I thought cherry eye at first but his eye was too bulged to be that. After a vet visit it turned out that a small piece of foreign matter had gone into his eye, she didn't find anything in there but she mentioned he was the third eye problem of the day and they were all quite similar. She did a thorough exam and he was really good even when she applied stinging dye to check for scratches. Came home with some cream, which I hope solves the problem, and so far it is going down. Poor little guy and I'm so relieved it wasn't cherry eye.

One of our puppy owners, from Penn., emailed us tonight. Her two year old girl also had some sort of eye issue today. Her case sounds just like your baby's, and it sounds like her vet did something very similar as yours. Hopefully, it's not something that will take too long to clear up.

The only thing I can think of is that this is the time of year when we see the most baby spiders hatching (or however they come out).

I am so happy to hear that it was not serious and no scratches, it is always wise to get to the Vet as quick as possible with the eyes, and yes it is so scary! I hope his eye heals quickly.
