Insurance fine print

O.k., so I'm being lazy and asking you all instead of researching it in my extensive pet insurance booklet! lol

Do you know if a pet owner decides not to vaccinate according to conventional vet recommendations, if perhaps the insurance company can then say 'sorry, we can't compensate for this and that because you weren't vaccinating your dog according to the "experts" ' What do you think?

Ricky and Sammy are getting their yearly (o.k., so we're a little late) checkups and vaccines. I am thinking of boosting all that they got the last time, as pups, and next year, tapering them off since I don't think it's all that necessary to get them all each year.

Hmmm...you put a bug in my head. My guys will be due for check-ups soon and I don't know what we will do about shots. I know Shelby will be due for her Rabies, but that's about it. I am going to have to read my policy real soon. I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Oh boy. I brought Ricky and Sammy to Ricky's vet appt. this morning. Sammy's appt. was for next week cuz I thought I'd be going with each one alone to make things easier. ANYWAY...... their 1 yr. vaccines/checkup isn't when the pup is 1 year old, it's one year AFTER the last set of vaccines.

DUH!!!!!!!

That means Ricky will be due only in Nov. and Sammy only in April since he got his late.

I think I'll have time to look into the policies by then. Ya think??
