Question about spaying

Hello, I am new to the site and I have a little girl havanese, Molly. She was spayed on Monday and she seems to have go to potty a lot more today. She doesn't seemed to go very much. She is doing good with everything else. She was really sick the first night but she is doing good now. I just wondered if this is something normal. :help. Thanks

I'm sorry no one answered you. Did you call the vet? I don't know if that's normal or not?

Thanks. Molly seems to be better today. I think she was just still feeling the effects of the surgery. She is my amazing baby and I think I worry to much about her, lol.

I have a boy dog, but as a female myself I think I'd probably be a bit tender about peeing if I'd had a similar surgery.

My girl got spayed two weeks ago, but I didn't notice a different in her bathroom habits. By no means do I consider myself an expert, but my guess would be that they gave her intravenous fluids to help keep her hydrated during the surgery. So since you say you noticed she was seeming to have to go potty more, she might just be getting rid of all the extra fluids they gave her. Again, I'm no expert but that sounds like something pretty normal! You know Molly the best though so definitely call your vet if something feels off!

It may be an after effect of the medication they give her, too..and they probably gave her an IV so she had alot more water to get rid of, I'd say its probably normal and would only get concerned if it lasts more than a few days and/or she stops drinking water and eating.
