How to get IBD under control? Should we go holistic route?
5 months ago one of our puppy (1,5 years old) got diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease). He had extreme salivation. After multiple trips to the Vet, and loads of medication (including prednisone) for 3 months we made the symptoms go away and he was happy doggie, aside from a lot of weight gain due to meds. However, once we weaned him off of all med (Vet recommended) in a week the symptoms came back in a more aggressive way. His excessive salivation won't stop. He is constantly vomiting, because saliva accumulates somewhere in his throat/stomach. We had been to 7 different Vets and have done tones of different tests and everything is normal, expect for the fact that they did biopsy and gave him diagnosis of IBD. He doesn't want to eat and none of the medication absorbs in his body dues to vomiting. Vet's are clueless (or incompetent) how we can treat this - and it is ridiculous that no one seem to be able to find a solution to get our pup back to normal.
Anyone dealt with this issue? I'm looking into holistic medication. Has anyone used holistic medicine for anything to treat their pups?
