anyone have a hav that chews on dew claws?

After bathing Riki, I noticed that the area around the dew claws is pink from him chewing on them. They are cut short...so why is he biting on them. I know sometimes he wets his paws to wipe the goop out of his eyes...but he does bite on them at night.

Do any of your dogs do this?

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Cody hasn't been chewing on his dew claw but lately he's been chewing the heck out of the pad of his right, front foot (and occassionally the left). He's not limping, I've haven't been able to find any foreign objects, cuts, etc. but something's really bugging him. I've been wondering if he's walking on something that's irritating the pad - although I wash his feet every time we go for a walk.

Sissy has allergies and in between her toes and her pads get red sometimes and she will lick them. The vet gave me some medicated powder to dry up the spots and I wash her paws with a medicated shampoo when this happens. I got the Stylique clipper
(8.99) from Petedge to keep the hair gone between her toes and the pads of her feet and that helps. The dew from the morning grass gets her feets all wet and that irritates her paws. But when I use the powder I have to keep her paws washed with the medicated shampoo often because the powder will crust between her toes... sigh...
