Ear Infection

Gryff has an ear infection too. I'm glad I decided to take him to the vet. They decided that it was close enough to his annual time that they gave him his check up and 1/2 his shots. He will get the rest next week. So far, he hasn't had the problems he had last year with the vaccines. Last year, he was so out of sorts and then developed a very large, swollen area around the shot site (I almost type sh*t site).

On the way home, I picked up Alec from camp. Gryff crawled up onto his lap and stayed on him the whole way home - a first! It was so nice to see them like that I nearly cried.

Is Gryff feeling better today? Ear infections are no fun! Poor guy.
I'm glad to hear he sat on Alec's lap on the ride home.

Poor Gryff. How is he doing now? I have heard that they clear up good with meds. Give him big hugs from Kona and I and tell him we hope he gets better soon!!!!!

I hope he's feeling better, we've had ear infection problems too. I thought Scooter had another one but it turns out he has 4 canine teeth on the bottom! He keeps rubbing his mouth on the floor and now we know why. They're coming out next month when he gets fixed.

Unhappy

Moxie has inflamed ears too. How are you getting the medicine into his ears? Moxie resists anyone touching his ears, big time, and I am alone this week without assistance. This is not a one person job.
The vet is going to do it for me for a few days. Hope it doesn't cost too much. He said alot of the small breeds are "head shy." He yanked alot of hair out also, poor baby. I am definitely remiss in this ear grooming department.

Thanks all. I made the appointment and for the 24 hours between the time I made it and the actual appt, he didn't scratch or shake once! Still, it turned out to be infected. I am cleaning the ear with a cleanser they gave me and then squirting the medicine in afterwards. The hair on his ear is kind of brown and gross. I guess it's the infection working its way out. He is fine though. He doesn't like the treatments, but it's not too bad.

While at the vet, I took care of his annual exam too. I got half his shots on Wednesday and we will do the rest in 10-14 days.
