Is this a tooth problem?

Bella is a little over a year now and I'm still finding these itty bitty puppy teeth on the floor. I was able to look in her mouth and there is this big tooth way in the back. It looks like there's no room for it in her tiny mouth but there it is.

I've never had a dog who lost puppy teeth so late. And I've never had a dog with such a small mouth and such big teeth. Is this normal for a Havanese or is this a problem?

She'll "scratch" her mouth and she has lots of saliva--all signs that she's teething. She's a smaller Havanese with smaller bones (unlike DaniGirl who is sturdy and a bit taller). Knowing teeth and bones are linked, can this be a sign that she'll have teeth problems? She's had four teeth removed--incisors--and that helped, for a while. I wish the vet would have taken out all the baby teeth when he was in there, but then that could be why we switched vets.

I know I'm droning on but it's become a concern that's not going away on it's own--yet. Thanks for any help.

Has she been spayed yet? For my maltese, they removed 7 teeth that had to be removed cause her mouth was too little and they just did it during her spay. I would at least take her to the vet cause that seems really late. Dash had all of his puppy teeth out (even though I totally flipped out <BG>) by 6 months.

Thinking of adding a Neezer, check out this thread!

She was spayed when she was 5 1/2 months and the vet didn't take any teeth out but he did blood work which ran the bill up to $750. Then, when the incisors wouldn't come out, he pulled those a few months ago for $350. Again, I wish he would have taken out the other little teeth.

We're going to take her to our new vet this week just to make sure things are okay. I wanted to be educated in Havanese teeth so I can let him know what's normal for this breed.
