Flea exposure...what to do?

Just got back with 3 and a half month old Benji from a visit to another doggie for socialization..There have been several visits over the past month. OH NO!! Saw fleas on the other dog.. Quickly departed, but I don't know what to do. I don't see any fleas on Benji.
NEED ADVICE please...

Thorough combing and bath? Do you use preventative on him?

Rita, Okay, will do that. I opted not to get the tick and flea prevention that you put on the back of the neck, because he's just a puppy and I have never had a dog get fleas ( two previous dogs). I thought I would use it only during tick season. Does anyone know if that is just prevention and doesn't actually treat fleas if your dog gets them?

It will kill fleas on the dog too. But if you don't KNOW you have a flea problem, and want to avoid the harsher stuff, this is what I'd do. I'd give him a good bath, then rinse him with Apple Cider Vinegar. Then I'd IMMEDIATELY wash any bedding he's been in contact with since being with the other dog in HOT water. (that will kill the eggs if there are any) Finally, I'd get Sentry Natural Defense, which is an herbal powder, and sprinkle it under his bedding. This will, kill any stray fleas before they can set up housekeeping.

It's really hard to have dogs and totally avoid fleas… they re everywhere. But I've found that by being very proactive if I see or suspect ANY, I am USUALLY able to avoid using the harsher chemicals.

some don't kill them they just stop the development of eggs , you have to look at each one to see what you want.
