Eye Twitching

My dog's eyes seem to tear and she has the stains on her white fur. I know this might be due to an allergy. Identifying the cause will be challenging. In addition to the tearing, I noticed that her left eye is twitching. It is not constant but I'm wondering what is causing it. She's a very skittish dog. Has anyone seen this with their Havanese?

if the twitching is regular but not constant ,I would have a vet check her.

I agree with Dave on the eye twitching and allergy issues.

As far as being skittish is concerned, this is not a normal part of the Havanese temperament, although you sometimes see it in poorly bred dogs or dogs that have been traumatized, come from shelters, etc. If none of these are the case with your dog, I would contact your breeder, so at least s/he knows there is a potential problem in her line and can keep an eye on it.

In terms of your specific dog, while temperament is what it is, good training, and good, regular socialization in situations that are a positive experience and not overwhelming can go a LONG way in helping a dog to be more comfortable int heir environment. A good positive/reward based trainer should be able to help you with this.
