Potty Training Regression

Tessa is three and half years old and while we had a really difficult time getting her potty trained (she was over a year old and I was on the forum several times asking for suggestions), since then she has been good with only the very odd accident. Now she has regressed and I`m asking for some help.

She is a crated dog and actually loves her crate and spends lots of time in it, by her choice, but since she has been toilet trained, we don't been lock the crate and haven`t for some time. For the past month or so, she is peeing and pooping in the spare bedroom and spare bath, usually when we are home. She asks to go out, so we have been assuming that she is doing her business but we watched her today and she just stands on the back porch, doesn't go down on the grass and then comes back in and some point after that, pooped in the house. There have been no major changes to our lives, other than I am actually home more than I was in the past. My hours at work have been cut to just 3 to 4 mornings a week so I spend lots of time with her. I am at a loss as to why this is happening.

I was hoping someone would have some ideas. Other than this, she is behaving the same as she usually does and isn`t acting ill at all. I will take her to the vets if this doesn`t end soon but I`ve spent over $1500 there so far this year for Cooper`s liver blood tests, tooth removal for one of my cats and just overall vet fees and medications and I was hoping someone might have a clue what could be going on with her. I would appreciate any ideas anyone may have.
