Stung by a bee!

On top of having his neuter surgery this week, Cody was stung by a bee in his paw. I called the vet and she said that as long as he was not experiencing an allergic reaction, I did not need to bring him in. She said to soak his paw in water and Epsom salts. It worked great! The stinger fell right out of his paw. I was worried about trying to scrape the stinger out.

Unfortunately, Cody is afraid to go in our backyard now. Any advice on how to get him to like the backyard again?

OMG - so sorry for poor Cody! When Molly was in puppy class she hurt her paw one week going out the swinging door of the place. When I tried to bring her to to class the following week she did not want to go in. I carried her in and tried to carry on as normal. I gave her some treats as well. Maybe you can bring one of his favorite toys or treats out with you. I would carry him out back if he won't walk. Maybe sit in the grass with him for a while and try to engage him with the toy or by doing some tricks for treats. I'm sure he will come around soon. That probably hurt like hell!

Glad Cody is ok after his experience with nature. Maybe play ball with him close to the house and gradually get him further out each day.
