Unhappy Duncan had a tick.....

The groomer informed me when I went to pick him up.She said she removed it,but now there is a bump. I called the vet and they said to watch him for about a week, and if he shows signs of being lethargic I should bring him in.
I also asked if he had the Lyme vaccine and they said he never got it.
I know that I told the vet that we travel to upstate NY alot, and that's why Duncan is on Interceptor(heart worm) and Frontline year round.
Is there something else I should be doing? Do any Havs here get the Lyme vaccine?
I am so worried!!!!

I know nothing about ticks...I sure hope that Lyme isn't in your area! Keep us posted.

Duncan looks a lot like my Scooter, is he brown or black? He looks curly too.

I hope the bump goes away, maybe it's just irritated from the bite and will clear right up.

Duncan is my little chocolate bundle!! As a puppy he was so dark he was almost black, but at 2 years old he has lightened up alot!! His hair is wavy, but we keep him in a puppy cut, since it's so much easier to care for!

As I have said before Hobbes is a tick magnet. As are my DH and myself. We all have to do a tick check every night. The deer tick are easy to find on us but not Hobbes. Many times he gets a left over bump from the tick removal. It sometimes is that you left a piece still attached but their body usually takes care of itself in a few days. I also am very sensitive to the bites and are left with a mark/ blister for a few weeks so I don't think I'd worry. Also it is rare for the larger ticks to carrier Lyme. Unless it was a lonestar.

Duncan is adorable! Scooter seems to be lightening a bit as he ages too. He got a puppy cut yesterday and she had to cut his face shorter than I wanted. She said he was matted. I've got to buy better brushes I guess.
