Sentinel Tablet

We give our dogs Sentinel from May-October for fleas and heartworm. It is a monthly pill, with the dose varying based on the dog's weight. Scout currently weighs 11.2 pounds, and we have always given him the pill for dogs that are 2-10 pounds. The next pill is for dogs that are 11-25 pounds.

Here is the difference between the two:

Sentinel 2-10lb 2.3mg/46mg TAL, a tablet containing 2.3 mg of milbemycin oxime and 46 mg of lufenuron.

Sentinel 11-25lb 5.75mg/115mg TAL, a tablet containing 5.75 mg of milbemycin oxime and 115mg of lufenuron

I hate putting chemicals in my dogs and would like to stick with the 2-10 pound tablet. The vet tech on the phone yesterday was resistant to that because Scout weighs 11.2 pounds, but said he would check with my vet.

What does everyone think and, for those that use Sentinel, which dose do you use?

The boys are both on the 5 to 11 kg (11-25lb) dosage. Seymour is 11 lbs and Harley is approx...cough...15 lbs. No adverse side effects with either boy.
