Medicine Help, Loose Stools and Tear Stains

Marble boarded at the kennel/doggie daycare for 2 days (Saturday and Sunday). I picked him up Mon morning, and he was fine. Tuesday night he started having diarrhea. An interesting side note is that he suddenly developed tear stains since Tuesday. Could it be an allergy to the spa bath he had or a symptom of his sickness? I'm baffled.

This time I didn't take him to the vet. He got diarrhea the last several times boarding. The vet tested him, and he was fine. She said that it was his nerves and anxiety. Well, to get to the main point of this, I am trying to give him 2 teaspoons of a medicine to treat diarrhea from Nature's Path, and I can't get him to take it. I tried to let him lick it, but he only licks a small amount. He won't take it mixed with his food, and I'm trying to squirt it
in with a medicine dropper, and he's fighting me. I've also been trying mixing in a little pumpkin with his food, but he tries to avoid it. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks.
Gina

Rufus had diarrhea all weekend and we changed his diet to potatoes and cottage cheese and he started getting firmer poops very quickly. The vet had said he could have Immodium if I was getting tired of all the butt baths, but I didn't need to use it. I would have a hard time getting Rufus to take a liquid, but put a little peanut butter on a pill and he has licked it off my finger and down his throat before he even knew it was there!

I can put medicine in my hand and the dogs will lick it right off, maybe that will work.

Frannie came down with loose poo this last weekend too-I talked to my vet who thought it could be a couple of things-lots of storms-which she is afraid of & stress diarrhea from the foster dog being here. She put her on meds just for three days-problem is okay now.

Glad Frannie is doing better after the meds. It gives me hope! Marble always gets this after boarding. And, sadly, I just found out my grandpa passed away. I may have to board Marble even though he's sick. I'm calling the vet in the morning.

Ann, I did get him to lick a little off. Thanks!
Christy, I wonder how much Immodium they can take.

My vet always says to withhold food if they have stomach problems. He says a 24 hour fast is good and helps rest the digestive track.
