OTC topical for fleas?

Last year I discovered that Reo cannot tolerate chewable heartworm meds. So for the second half of the summer I used Revolution which is a topical and is heartworm and flea combined. This year, the temperatures have been low and I'm not giving heartworm meds yet. But he needs flea protection. Does anyone use an OTC flea med they can recommend?

I've been using Activyl (flea only not the flea+tick version) and so far so good. It kills the fleas and my dogs have not had any reactions to it. I have tried the chemical free/natural flea control but it doesnt work that well. I wish it did! Frontline did not work and I only use Advantix if there is a tick problem (fortunately last year and so far this year nothing).

I dont give the heartworm medication at all. I do test the dogs regularly however.
