I agree about going to the vet, just in case. My girl (non-hav) somewhere around 7 months had massive diarrhea with blood and vomitting. It was awful. The diagnosis from the emergency clinic was C. Diff. and she was given antibiotics. The regular vet thought she might have had pyometra going into her first heat. I still don't know. Got her over the bad spell, and she was spayed the next month. Since her 1/2 brother is in our home as well, something had to be done anyway (he was neutered later).
Now, her diarrhea was not at night...it was full time both ends spewing. So, your girl isn't nearly as bad. But, still, any odd symptoms around a heat cycle before/after need to be seen by a vet just in case its pyometra (although it is usually seen more in older dogs, generally, but can still occur with younger females). Seems to me that diarrhea could easily happen with 'cramps', but still, I agree with the others..... I would make an appt with the vet and just make sure.
