"Puppy Pediacare"

Zeke had his first bout with an upset tummy recently. When it lasted longer than a day or so we took him to the vet. Good news it was nothing serious and he was fine within a couple of days of plain boiled chicken and rice.

For the first 24 hours she (the vet) suggested no food at all and said to mix a homemade "puppy pedicure" which was water, chicken bullion, and small amount of corn syrup. I did that and he refused to even taste it, regardless of how hungry he may have been.

Anyone else have any other home broth recipes for when they are off solid food for a day? Hopefully we won't need it again for a long time, but thought I'd ask in advance this time.

What about trying the water you use to boil the chicken with a bit of sugar? (personally, I'd stay away from corn syrup, but that's me) if the vet thought he needed a bit of salt for the electrolytes, you could always add a bit of that, too.
