Papillon Rally Trial

Kodi and I had a Rally trial today... His first after getting hurt, and with only the TINIEST bit of work this week. Fortunately there was no back up on the course, as we haven't wanted to practice that at all with his hip, and there was no offset figure 8. (where you have to do a figure 8 while ignoring 2 dog bowls with food in them) We've successfully done the offset figure 8 before, but it would be a lot to ask with this little preparation.

He won his class, and got his second Excellent leg! One more to go for his title!

Oh, there was another Havanese there too, doing Utility level Obedience. That's the hardest level of formal obedience, and it's VERY hard. She didn't Q (not a single dog Q'd in utility today) but she did a VERY nice job over all. It was fun not being the only Havanese at the trial!

Thanks! No, he's off all meds. I have stretching exercises I am supposed to do with him, daily, and again before he works. I'm also supposed to walk him for at least 20 minutes before he works. (we usually do that anyway) She said he's still guarding that hip, but she expects him to make a full recovery.

Congratulations to both you and Kodi, that's great! I'm happy to hear he's feeling better. It sounds like you have a great pre workout and competition plan, my daughter swims competitively and does the same warm up and stretching stuff it's a great preventative to injury.

I don't know why I didn't think of it myself... I NEVER would have expected y horse to work without proper stretching and warm-up. Dumb
